I’m Alex Perry-Bower. Before I was a coach, I was, and still am, a patient.

I’ve lived with ulcerative colitis for a long time. Later came PSC, primary sclerosing cholangitis, a condition that affects the liver, and one that doesn’t get talked about nearly enough. Eventually, that led to a liver transplant.

I’m not telling you this so you feel sorry for me. I’m telling you because it’s the reason Sol Ethos exists. For years, I sat in appointments being told to “manage” my symptoms, handed generic advice that didn’t account for how I actually lived, what I actually ate, or how exhausted I actually was. I had to learn, slowly and mostly by trial and error, what actually helped. Real food changes. Real routine changes. Real understanding of what my body was telling me.

That’s the gap Sol Ethos fills. Not another generic wellness programme, and not someone reciting textbook advice with no idea what it’s like to live it. Coaching from someone who has actually sat where you’re sitting, and who is still living it, not just talking about it in the past tense.

What this means for you

This isn’t about me centering my own story in every session, it’s about what that experience gives me: the ability to actually hear you, because I’ve been the person nobody quite heard. Whatever brought you here, a diagnosis, or just knowing something’s off, you don’t have to explain the basics to me. We can start where it actually matters.
